- She stormed on the Indian music scene with her hit single “Hotline” which was the first ‘single’ to be released in India.
- Her first album “Love today hai nahi asaan” was one of the highest selling debut album of its time. The song “Dil le le” fetched her nomination for best female vocalist.
- The album was supported by two videos. “Hotline” and “Love today hai nahi asaan”. Love today...” was the first Indian pop video to be choreographed by Ace choreographer Saroj Khan. Both videos also showcased her talent as a dancer comfortable equally with western and Indian styles.
- Her first English English single ”Fever” was released soon after. “These boots are made for walking” followed same year. It won her appreciation from the critics who were impressed by the ease and versatility with which the young singer modulates her voice to sing the classic tracks, so different from her Hindi style you could hardly recognize it as being the same voice.
- She saw her lending her voice to sing the song “DIVA”, the title track for The first ever Indian music awards. The Diva awards. She was nominated for best female vocalist as well as viewers choice awards. She opened the awards show with a live performance of Diva and later followed it by a slick performance of her favourite “fever”
- Same year had her representing the Hindi pop music on the First ever “Ford super model of the year” held in India. And continued touring the length of the country with live shows. She has performed in most of Indian cities and her concerts have usually been the first ever Hindi pop concert by a female pop artist in most of those cities.
- That was followed by her super hit album “Nazuk nazuk” released in 1996, featuring the track “Oova Oova” . the song got her a nomination for best female vocalist for the second time as well as one for viewers choice award. The video showcased her talent as an actress equally at easewith comedy. At the time when Indian pop was very influenced by glamour she chose to portray a deglamourized, simple girl and showed her versatility and love for experiments once again.
- The second video “Hoo Halla Hoo”, from the same album was the first fully animated 3D video ever produced in India. It took over six months to complete and was scripted by Anaida herself. It won a number of awards including “Hope 96” for best animation.
- For the first time ever, Walt Disney decided to produce a version of one of their popular tracks in another language. It was the song “Hakuna Matata” from their animation movie “The Lion King” in Hindi. They chose Anaida to sing the song along with Baba Sehgal. The video, was the first 2D animation of its kind in India and dominated the music charts for months in India The video , first of its kind in India went on to become on of the few numbers popular with kids and adults alike. Anaida proved her extreme professionalism by proceeding to shoot for the video despite a very high fever, a bad case of Conjunctivitis and a broken and badly infected toe! She often jokes about the dark glasses she sported during the video to cover her swollen eyes.
- Same year saw her attending the BMG International conference in USA as their highest selling Indian artist.
- Anaida teaming up with Syrian singer/songwriter “Shukri” for an Arabic album ”O Malu Malu”. The first original Arabic album produced in India.
- The video of the title track was co-directed by Anaida herself , also using her talent as a choreographer for Arabic style of dancing. O malu malu the first original Arabic album by a Hindi pop artist. While the song was never released in India officially it became an instant under ground hit all over India. With the song she toured all over the Middle East with amazing response. The song though in Arabic, is one of the most frequent requests at her concerts around India!
- She also was the first to release a pop song to celebrate India’s 50 years of independence. The song was originally titled “Vande Mtaram” but later changed to “Hum Sab Ek Hai”. The video featured superstars like Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan along with Kumar Gaurav and Atul Agnihotri. Extremely fond of traditional Indian styles, she trained for a whole week just to make sure the few seconds of Bharat Natyam danced performed by her in the video are perfectly authentic in dancing and posture.
- 1997 Greek superstar, classical pianist and composer “Stefanos Korkolis” invited Anaida to visit Greece to sing a duet for his forthcoming album. The song titled “ANAIDA” a duet in Greek and Hindi was Stefanos’s dedication to the beautiful and talented singer. The video shot in Greece was the highest requested video on Greek TV, and the album reached Gold status within just 3 months of release. She also performed the same live on Greece’s most popular T.V show “Bravo” along with ‘Stefanos Korkolis’.

- 1997 Anaida surprised the audience and critics alike once again by lending her voice to the film “Bombay Boys”and the extremely alternative track “Quest”, the song “Quest” showcases her range and versatility as a vocalist and her incredible talent to break new grounds with every new project being equally comfortable and convincing with extremely diverse styles of music and singing. The Song and the video “Quest”, exceedingly experimental for the Indian market has been well received and remains as one of her most favourite tracks. The song was later re produced by American Producer Joey Balin and released as a part of Maxi CD. The Video for the new “Quest” was redirected, conceptualised, produced and edited by Anaida herself and remains one of her most favourite work.
- For the first time an Indian female pop star performed live on stage with an international counterpart. 1997 also saw Anaida teaming up with international heartthrob Peter Andre at his request for a love duet on channel V music awards in New Delhi. - 1998 She went on an all India tour covering 25 cities. Producing and directing the concerts herself in collaboration with Local even organizers in each city.
- 1999 she was a part of a trio album “Sambhalke” with two new singers in an effort to promote them. The video of the title track “Sambhalke” won the MTV best video of the year.
- 2000 She released her album “chori chori” composed by Ira Roshan the album was a first of its kind mixing Hindi folk music with Indian pop. With this album she increased her fan following to include the much older generation.
- She used a different style and a new tone of voice for this album yet, introducing a semi classical style of singing and a lower range into Hindi pop. The video also follows a new trend, as she puts it herself the video is “as simple as simple could get” The first video “Zarah dheere chalo ji” affectionately renamed by audiences as Oonchi neechi, album was on the highest requested videos of its time on MTV and went on to become a craze. He slim 17 inch waste went on to become a craze constantly covered an measured on national channels while interviews. She was nicknamed by the fans as the “patli Kamariya” diva.
- “Kaachi Kali”, the second video, had her team up with her favourite ace Bollywood choreographer “Saroj Khan” once again, the video targeted at the family audience is light hearted and peppy while the song has a strong Rajesthani folk flavour.
- Same year saw her teaming up with other fellow singers to do a pop version of the song” Raghu pati Raghav Raja Ram” and shot for the same video.
- The year 2000 saw her lending her voice to the sound track of Dev Benegals English film " Split wide open" for a nostalgic version of the old disco hit " Black is black" accompanied by a video directed by Dev Benegal.
- She has also recently lend her voice to three other film sound tracks in Hindi for mainstream Hindi films.
- "You gotta fall in love" for Raj Kumar Santoshi's "Lajja" by Anu Malik.
- "Tumse Achcha kaun” a love duet with Sonu Nigam for Prakash Mehra's "Mujhe Mere Biwi se bachao" music by Rajesh Roshan. And "Diwani Diwani" for Abbas Mastans "Chori chori Chupke chupke" for Anu Malik.
- Same year she toured the country for Pepsi world cup for a 17 city stadium tours, all over India and abroad performing for audiences in excess of 30 to 50,000 at each venue. The tour also featured local artists in different cities along with her while Anaida was the constant feature.
- 2001 saw her releasing her "greatest hits" album including the new track "Piya bina”, co choreographed by her showcasing her ease and talent in dancing Indian styles. She has never been trained for the same.
- 1999-2002 she did a number of English singles for different compilations in USA and Europe, highlights amongst those are her song “ Good day to die”(link to listen to the track) the first ever song by an Indian female pop singer to be featured on “Buddha bar” compilation, “the living Theatre volume 1”
- 2003 saw her teaming up with the Pakistani rock band “noori” for a single “Naya Jahan” a love song with an underlying message of peace between the two countries. The song stolen from the studio was already bootlegged and released all over the internet and underground market before its release on Anaida’s next album.
- She also released her maxi English CD, titled “Quest” Featuring a reproduced version of her film hit along with 3 other new tracks, released in Europe. She also visualized, directed and edited the title video of the Album, “Quest” for the same abum.
- 2004-2005 She toured India with live shows. And composed, directed and produced her next album Nayaa featuring musicians from around the world.
- 2006 she released her first personally directed/ produced album “Nayaa” with many songs written and composed by her. Featuring 14 songs. In English and Hindi.
- She also produced three videos for the same. “Ey shamaa” shot in “Joshua tree” California by award winning Canadian director Craig Bernard. “Maula re” and the alternative video “Khamoshiya” directed by Anaida herself.
- 2007 and 2008 She dedicated the two years to working mainly with charity organizations focusing on women and children and used the free time to organize her leather carvings and Persian calligraphy on leather as well as to paint a new collection of spiritual paintings in Ink, water and acrylicmedium on paper.
- 2009- 2010” while working on new material she featured in a number of TV shows on different Indian channels such as Sony, Z TV etc. She also featured in three reality shows, Music based Dhoom Macha de” featuring India’s top performing artists, “Fun on the run” (celebrity version of the amazing race) and “Is Junlge se Mujhe Bachao” which she accepted supporting charity.
- 2011, She has her first ever showing of her paintings and carvings and calligraphy of the last 20 years in Delhi, sponsored by AIFACS (All India Fine Arts and crafts society)
- 2012 she was part of a group show featuring some of Indias top painters
- 2013 Feb, she initiated the Pune Art Gallery (http://thepuneartgallery.com/) starting with the first event “Revelations I” featuring some of India’s top most and well respected artists.
- 2013 She is currently working on numerous music project in multiple languages, the next arts show and continues to consult for different projects with priority to hospitality with Oakwood Premier Pune.
With numerous albums and numerous singles in different languages to her credit and Highly popular on the live circuit she has performed all around the world in different languages and has teamed up with other artists to experiment with different styles and languages more often than any other Hindi pop singer and continues to break barriers with new projects and collaborations. She has sung the fun track “Hakuna matata” in Hindi with ‘Baba Sehgal’ on stage with the same grace, elegance and ease she teamed up with “Peter Andre’ to sing an English ballad on channel V awards. Her talent as a vocalist, dancer and a performer who can hold her audience spellbound through an entire concert has made her one of the most sought after artists for live concerts.
She continues to work on new music projects internationally, constantly experimenting with new languages and styles. Continues to paint and feature in art events including initiating and organizing some. Consults for various projects and is heavily concentrating on her meditation albums and holistic projects due for release.
